FAQs:

SO HOW DOES THIS WHOLE THING WORK? ARE PEOPLE REALLY GOING TO BE DANCING FOR SIX WHOLE HOURS?

Well, “dancing” is a loose term…

The short answer: No, you won’t have to boogie down for six hours straight. However, you will be on your feet during the entire marathon! There will be dancing (of course), games, and lots of other fun to keep you excited.

If you need to come late or leave early, that’s OK too! Just come for however long you can join in the fun!

DO I REALLY HAVE TO RAISE $50?

You sure do! It’s pretty easy to raise money quickly online. After you register, share the link to your personal page with family and friends on social media, let everyone know the event benefits Special Olympics Minnesota…the dough will be rollin’ in! The more you raise,  the more cool SWAG you’ll earn!

CAN I TAKE A SHOPPING BREAK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MARATHON?

The shopping will have to wait until Sunday! In order to create the ultimate experience and preserve the safety of our participants, we encourage all dancers to stay into the UDM space. All participants are required to check in and will need to be escorted by one of our fabulous volunteers to take any breaks throughout the day!

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME FOR THIS DAY OF FUN?

Not much! Your participation in UDM comes with snacks and beverages throughout the day, so you won’t need to bring any food with you. It might be nice to carry your cell phone and some extra cash (just in case!)—and, of course, your dancin’ shoes! No backpacks or bags will be permitted. Be sure everything fits in a fanny pack, which you can buy on our merchandise shop! Pretty sweet, right?!

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE IN THE REVENUE SHARE?

If you’re part of a school group or Special Olympics Minnesota delegation, you’re eligible to participate in a revenue share. Visit our resources page to download the revenue share forms!
